Good change in Telugu movies
I was home recently for a couple weeks and happened to watch a few new telugu movies to while away time. I watched "Aite", "Dil" and also "12B" lately. 12B is a dubbing movie picked from Tamil.. Was a different concept: The story tends to have two paths at a point and the director imagines how different life would be in each path. Conceptually, good.. but I quite didn't like it. May be becos I felt a better story should have been adopted.. Suddenly it struck to me how different this one is from the ones I watched the prev two nights: "Aite" and "Dil". Aite, in my opinion, is a must-watch movie. Lots of movies have been made on bank robbery plots, team efforts to make/break something.. This one is so different and carries a great message for the youngsters.. ones who just started battling with their lives. I appreciate the vision of the director and how well he etched each character's role.. There was so much emphasis on detail for each person.. I don't want to pinpoint becos people who didn't watch the movie yet shouldn't get prejudiced or get more info :) And then came Dil. Altho it was a little melo-dramatic when it came to how students coalesced to make a love marriage happen, was quite entertaining. I notice a healthy trend in Telugu cinema now. We make less dubbing movies. We have more movies which relate to everyday life: characters, scenarios, folk music.. How so refreshing?! Of course there's a new release "Boys" (Tamil dubbing) which disturbs my happiness but after all, evil needs to exist to realise the value of good, isn't it? :p
