There's no way I can paraphrase Arundhati Roy's brilliant prose in a brief blog. Her Greater Common Good is one of the two books that focussed my attention on globalization as the most important phenomenon to be understood by everyone interested in figuring out where we are all headed. But that's not the topic of this blog. Arundhati Roy has delivered the most courageous speech I've ever heard in my lifetime. A video recording is available online at democracynow.org and a written transcript is available as well.
She's not afraid to say that the only antidote to terrorism that'll really work is justice! It may be obvious to anyone who understands the silent terror wrought by the so-called "democratic" governments everywhere that really don't allow any real change in the lives of common people through democratic and non-violent political struggles but who has had the courage to say exactly that until now? If you want to keep hearing the truth with such clarity, track the news she makes with a google news alert.
