Saath - Saath

Another wonderful movie with great performances and songs. An important dialogue from the movie set me thinking - "There's nothing wrong in living modestly. But the appeal of such a life can be weak if one has to put up with the inability to sustain beauty in one's surroundings".

Of course, what cannot be compromised on is one's inner beauty. But outer beauty is wonderful too. It's much more easier to sustain beautiful thoughts when the physical surroundings aren't depressingly shoddy. One can create beautiful surroundings for oneself even if one's poor provided the basic necessities are met and one works for it.

We thus need to work towards satisfying these two pre-requisites. Enough economic opportunities for everyone to afford their basic necessities and an education that provides everyone with the ethos that stresses sustenance of inner and outer beauties.
